anyone who says “just internet friends” is a fucking douche okay
my internet friends have wiped my tears dozens more times than my “real life friends”I’ve had my heart broken by someone who thought internet friends couldn’t be real friends.
My stepdad thinks you guys can’t be real friends. He laughs derisively at me when I try to explain.
My dad thinks the concept of internet friends being real friends is stupidly ridiculous too.
But you guys are better than a lot of ‘real’ ‘friends’ I have.
So yeah.
A good way to explain it, guys, is like saying internet friends are just like pen pals but easier to contact and you can have instant conversations.
You guys have helped me through so much. I always say Tim Minchin changed my life, but if I hadn’t found social networking and become addicted to the internet, I might never have found him. Even though I’m not of age yet, the only girl in my life I could ever see myself marrying started as just ann online friend. The same girl who sat up texting me at gods know what hours of the night, roleplaying or, more often than not, comforting me after a depressing experience or a daymare. She’s the one who had an awful nightmare after I told her about one of my DAYmares, yet was still willing to sit and comfort me as it came back to haunt me. Without the internet, I would have no life.
Yeah, and my stepdad feels the same about penpals too
If I didn’t have my internet friends, I would have been dead a long long time ago. To the old ones, lost ones, new ones, and forever ones, thank you so much for loving the real me and not judging me first by my appearance. I love you all.
Liana is my best friend and we’ve only met twice.
I meet the most important people in my life, online. They mean so much to me. :)
I love all the people that I’ve met online, I like knowing that I’m not the only weird one out there. I already feel like an outcast in the real world. I’ve met one of my best friends on Tumblr. If I didn’t have her, I would honestly have lost my mind by now.
